Thoughts

Hi Ann it was very strange this Mothers day not being able to speak to you or send flowers but we know you would have liked the flowers we left for you at West Norwood. Amy is off to Australia soon with work she is really looking forward to it, we know you will be watching over her and keep her safe. Tony's rose is doing well and the Lilac tree from 61a is still going strong. Love and miss you xxxx

For the first Mother's Day without you here. We hope you liked the flowers and cards, Ann. I also want to mention how well the forget-me-nots are doing. Despite the awful weather, they are coming on nicely and we can't wait to see them in bloom - hopefully soon. The camelia bloomed early but the bids were destroyed by the cold weather, so we're hoping that it blooms again this year. There were SO MANY buds, it would have been amazing. The magnolia has lots of buds, too, and hopefully that will be full of blossom soon. I'm guessing it was you opening and closing the door of the lounge this morning. There wasn't another explanation! Katie is having a boy in July, so that will be our third grandchild. Ask the angels to watch over him and Katie and Mum, too. Yesterday was so difficult. Not only celebrating your first mother's day up there with all your friends and family and all those who've passed, but Mum had a stroke and we had to celebrate Mother's Day with her in hospital. Sending lots of prayers that she'll be out very soon, but we are taking one day at a time. Lots of love. Keep watching over us all. God bless.

7th December 2022 So today is your 80th birthday, Ann and we wish we had been able to celebrate it with you. But we did light candles in your memory and drank a toast to you. It's been a very emotional day. We know that the 'firsts' are always the most challenging, but we still haven't got our heads around the fact that you are no longer with us. We hope that you've spent the day sharing memories of previous birthdays. We checked on the forget-me-nots today as the temperature dropped last night. They are doing well we're looking forward to planting them out next Spring. It looks like the house has almost sold but there were delays with probate. The last few times we were there were very difficult. Your neighbours are still missing you and there were lots of comments today after Simon put a post on Facebook to commemorate your birthday. Never forgotten, Ann. We are all missing you. Much love. XX
Paul Harrington-Whitnall.
